The Commentary says: This explains that various evil views and unwholesome actions arise on account of wrong view. Various evil views, etc., are like yakṣas; their increasing daily is called 'vying to come.' Generating further evil actions on account of having stirred up afflictions is called 'striving to seize food.' Food carries the sense of sustaining and growing; hence, when evil bodily actions are fully engaged, it is called 'after eating their fill.' Wrong views growing ever more numerous is called 'evil minds becoming ever fiercer.' Their then manifesting in speech is called 'the sound of fighting and quarreling.' Evil actions of the three karmic paths are augmented by wrong views, and the damage being ever greater is called 'exceedingly frightening.' Therefore, the three evil actions arise on account of wrong view; it is not that wrong view directly initiates bodily and vocal [actions], but because it generates them distantly by its momentum, it is spoken of in this way.
