窮子譬喻對治一向增上慢，我乘與如來乘等無差別，若言我乘與如來乘無差別，即是與如來相好，乃是《攝論》說聲聞作佛令得同佛，自體意樂之義。何須對治？

The parable of the impoverished son counteracts the exclusive overweening pride [thinking]: 'My vehicle and the Tathāgata's vehicle are equal and without difference.' If one says that one's own vehicle and the Tathāgata's vehicle have no difference, that is being endowed with the marks and signs of the Tathāgata, which is precisely the meaning spoken of in the Mahāyānasaṃgraha that śrāvakas becoming buddhas causes them to attain the intention of sharing the same body as the Buddha. Why would this need to be counteracted?
