二「廣歷」下，約教辯能，二：初、略指，三：隨教淺深益物廣狹，以明治病得寶之相。二、「今約」下，廣明圓，二：初、釋二身，二：初、藥樹身，二：初、喻。根深喻真妙。四布喻應廣，示理行果教，如根等次第，信行修四如聞獲益，法行修四如觸獲益。二、「菩薩」下，法。今品初段專明拔苦，即是大悲熏於真身，與治病義齊也。形聲利物且就通說，若據經文須在冥益，不以形聲合前聞觸，意亦在茲。二「又如」下，珠王身，二：初、喻。如文。二、「菩薩」下，法。即以大慈熏於應身，普令得樂，與寶義同也。

Second, from "Extensively going through..." onwards, discerning capacity according to the teachings, in two parts: First, briefly pointing it out, in three parts: according to the shallowness or depth of the teachings and the breadth or narrowness of benefiting beings, to clarify the characteristics of curing illness and obtaining treasures. Second, from "Now according to..." onwards, extensively clarifying the Perfect [Teaching], in two parts: First, explaining the two bodies, in two parts: First, the body of the medicinal tree, in two parts: First, the analogy. The deep roots illustrate the marvel of the true [body]. Spreading in four directions illustrates the breadth of responses; presenting the principles, practices, fruits, and teachings in the order of the roots, etc. Practicing the four in the practice of faith is like obtaining benefit upon hearing; practicing the four in the practice of the Dharma is like obtaining benefit upon touching. Second, from "Bodhisattvas..." onwards, the phenomenon. The initial section of the present chapter specifically clarifies eradicating suffering; this is great compassion perfuming the true body, which corresponds to the meaning of curing illness. Benefiting beings through form and sound is spoken of generally; if based on the sūtra text, it must reside in unmanifest benefit, not equating form and sound with the aforementioned hearing and touching; the meaning also lies herein. Second, from "Furthermore, just as..." onwards, the body of the jewel king, in two parts: First, the analogy, as in the text. Second, from "Bodhisattvas..." onwards, the phenomenon: namely, using great benevolence to perfume the response body, causing all universally to attain joy, which is the same as the meaning of the treasure.
