Question: Sharing conditions is called "response," and sudden appearance is called "transformation." Neither of these two kinds of bodies is wisdom-virtue; why is transformation now regarded as the true body? Answer: The transformation of sudden appearance is the transformation of transforming and manifesting. Now, discussing transformation in contrast to forms, we take transformation as turning and transforming. Why is that? What was spoken of above regarding forms means that responses and transformations are all forms; from the reward realm of true retribution down to hell bodies, all are already completely encompassed. If one wishes to turn and transform ordinary persons and worthies so that they enter sagehood, one must reveal true wisdom; if not for the true body, one cannot turn and transform them.
