意機約三毒，為三章，章各有三：一、明有苦，二、默念，此兩即是明機，三、明離，即是明其應三也。

The mental capacity, based on the three poisons, forms three sections. Each section has three parts: first, clarifying that there is suffering; second, silently being mindful—these two clarify the capacity; third, clarifying separation—this clarifies its response, [making] three.
