論曰：此是第三別顯階位。唯顯行位除其果位，所以不取妙覺之地。此六行中，前四位是理入階降，後二位者行入差別。於中略義在《本業經》，廣分別義出華嚴教。

The commentary states: This is the third [part], which distinctively reveals the stages. It reveals only the stages of practice and excludes the stage of fruition; therefore it does not take the ground of wondrous awakening. Among these six practices, the first four stages are the gradations of the entry through principle, and the latter two stages are the distinctions of the entry through practice. In this, the brief meaning is in the Benye jing, and the extensively distinguished meaning comes from the Avataṃsaka teaching.
