3.90

經曰　爾時梵行長者聞說是偈，心大欣懌，欲宣其義而說偈言：「諸法本寂滅，寂滅亦無生。是諸生滅法，是法非無生，彼即不共此，為有斷常故。此即離於二，亦不在一住。」

The sūtra states: "At that time the elder Brahmacārin, having heard this verse spoken, was greatly rejoiced in his mind. Wishing to proclaim its meaning, he spoke a verse: / 'All dharmas are originally tranquil and ceased, / and tranquility and cessation are also unarisen. / These various dharmas of arising and ceasing— / this dharma is not unarisen. / That [dharma] does not coexist with this, / because there would be annihilation and permanence. / This is free from the two, / nor does it abide in oneness.'"
