The treatise states: This is fifth, asking about what has not yet been heard. Within it, the first half presents on his own part his constant confrontation [with them], and the lower two lines request the expounding of the permanent Dharma. The intention behind his own presentation is: having freed myself from all extremes and attained the non-abiding cognition, I am therefore able within each and every fine dust mote to constantly see the immeasurable Buddhas of the ten directions. In the fine dust motes of the worlds of the ten directions, there is no place where the immeasurable Buddhas are not seen; hence it is said, 'in all places constantly see the Tathāgatas.' As the Avataṃsaka-sūtra says: 'Within a single dust mote, / one universally sees immeasurable Buddhas; / just as within a single dust mote, / so it is with all dust motes.' Having such capacity, he is worthy of hearing the permanent Dharma; therefore he wishes to hear the expounding of the permanent Dharma.
