The sūtra states: Bodhisattva Non-Abiding said: 'Far-reaching travel of pervasive conceptualization wanders the ten directions, and the arising of the mind in a single thought completely possesses the fifty evils; how can those sentient beings be caused to have no single thought arise?' The Buddha said: 'If those sentient beings are caused to seat their minds peacefully and dwell on the vajra ground, with quieted mindfulness without arising and the mind constantly serene, then there will be no single thought.'
