The commentary states: When a bodhisattva's contemplative practice is perfected, one knows one's own contemplative mind conforms to principle in cultivating practice, being neither a mind that has arising nor a mind that lacks arising, and also neither having practice nor lacking practice. Solely to depart from the extreme of superimposition, it is provisionally spoken of as non-arising, because one does not give rise to a mind in the presence of arising, nor does one give rise to a mind in the presence of non-arising. To depart from the extreme of deprecation, it is also provisionally spoken of as practice, because although it is not a practice that possesses practice, neither is it a practice that lacks non-practice. Therefore, it is titled the 'Chapter on the Practice of Non-arising'.
