辨名者，壽者命根。亦可命壽無二，依大乘即陰相續，依小乘別有不相應性。
Distinguishing the name: "Life" is the life faculty (jīvitendriya). Alternatively, life and lifespan are not two; according to the Mahāyāna, it is the continuity of aggregates (skandha-saṃtatī); according to the Hīnayāna, there is a separate conditioning factor disjoined from mind (citta-viprayukta-saṃskāra).
