The twenty-ninth is the position of the bodhisattva of the dedication of unbonded and unattached liberation. The deity is named Mahādeva, who enters the Dharma-gate of the cloud net. First is explaining the admonition to advance; second, from "Then Sudhana" onward, is advancing in accordance with instruction; third, from "At that time Mahādeva" onward, is the actual entry. The three meanings of the admonition to advance are as before. In the second part, advancing in accordance [with instruction], there are eight: first, taking leave with reverence; second, recollecting the previous Dharma-gate; third, gradually arriving; fourth, seeking, which has two parts that can be known; fifth, going to the place; sixth, paying homage; seventh, stating his own resolving [of the mind on bodhi]; eighth, inquiring. In the third part, the actual entry, there are three: first, washing his face with water, scattering golden flowers, and praising that [such] a good spiritual friend is difficult to encounter; second, from "I have already" onward, stating the Dharma-gate of his own division that he has attained; third, from "The great" onward, respectfully deferring to the superior division. In the second part, his own division, there are three: first, discerning the essence of the Dharma-gate; second, from "He addressed... saying" onward, revealing the virtuous application and scope of the Dharma; third, from "I only" onward, concluding with what he himself knows. In the virtuous application, there are two: first, questioning; next, answering. In the answer, there are two: first, teaching the giving of wealth; second, from "Furthermore" onward, teaching the giving of Dharma. In the first, the giving of wealth, there are five: first, accumulating jewels; second, accumulating incense; third, manifesting women; fourth, instructing Sudhana; fifth, and others. In the second, the giving of Dharma, there are four parts, which can be known. In deferring [to the superior division], first five similes are presented and then combined; next is the conclusion.
