將釋此經略開十門：一明教起所由、二約藏部明所攝、三顯立教差別、四簡教所被機、五辨能詮教體、六明所詮宗趣、七具釋經題目、八明部類傳譯、九辨文義分齊、十隨文解釋。

In preparing to explain this sūtra, ten sections are briefly opened: first, clarifying the reasons for the arising of the teaching; second, clarifying what it subsumes in terms of Piṭakas and divisions; third, demonstrating the distinctions in the establishment of the teachings; fourth, selecting the capacities addressed by the teaching; fifth, discerning the essence of the teaching that serves as the signifier; sixth, clarifying the principal tenet that is signified; seventh, fully explaining the title of the sūtra; eighth, clarifying the transmissions and translations of its lineages; ninth, discerning the divisions and limits of the text and its meaning; tenth, explaining in accordance with the text.
