Ninth, within distinctly revealing the aspects of the dharmadhātu's cause and effect, there are also ten meanings in five gates: 1. Incomparable object, which is the dharmadhātu of the true reality of principle; this has two stages: first, the most pure dharmadhātu emerged from entanglement; second, the naturally pure dharmadhātu within entanglement, because these two are what is believed and what is realized. 2. Incomparable mind, which also has two meanings: first, the great bodhicitta being the basis upon which Samantabhadra's practices rely; second, faith, compassion, wisdom, and so forth arising in accord with practice. 3. Incomparable practice, which also has two meanings: first, differentiated practices being cultivated individually; second, Samantabhadra's practice wherein one is precisely all. 4. Incomparable stages, which also have two meanings: first, the differentiated stages arranged in sequence, because inference and direct realization differ; second, the stages of perfect interpenetration and mutual containment, because a single stage is equipped with all stages. 5. Incomparable fruit, which also has two meanings: first, the fruit produced by cultivation; second, the fruit revealed by cultivation. These five gates and ten meanings encompass almost the entirety of this sūtra; therefore, taking them completely as the central theme makes the meaning fully equipped.
