初數名者，依梁《攝論》第十勝相云百千經者，是華嚴經有十萬頌，名百千經，此即從本數以立其名。

First, the numerical name: according to the tenth "Superior Characteristic" of the Liang translation of the Mahāyānasaṃgraha, which speaks of the "Hundred-Thousand Sūtra," this Avataṃsaka Sūtra has one hundred thousand verses and is called the Hundred-Thousand Sūtra.
