11.34

第七世智中，初牒前。二「善能」下正顯行相中，論云隨自己力者，量己智力也。隨彼能受者，量眾生堪聞也。於自於他有宜應作、無宜不作。如論中說者，如《瑜伽．菩薩地．菩提分品》具顯此義。言上中下眾生者，謂勝中劣眾生也，隨其所應隨其所宜而利益故。三「是故」下結。

Seventh, in worldly knowledge: first, taking up the preceding; second, in directly showing the active aspects from "skilfully able to" downward, the Treatise says "according to one's own power" means measuring the power of one's own wisdom; "according to what they can receive" means measuring beings' capacity to listen; regarding oneself and others, if appropriate one should act, and if not appropriate one should not act; as explained in the treatise, this meaning is fully demonstrated as in the *Yogācārabhūmi*, "Bodhisattvabhūmi", "Bodhipakkhiyā Chapter"; saying "superior, middling, and inferior beings" means superior, intermediate, and inferior beings, benefiting them according to what is suitable and appropriate; third, from "therefore" downward, the conclusion.
