12.10

此地修禪厭伏煩惱，名為起厭。初入地心修起彼厭，名為厭行。趣地加行起彼厭行，名起厭行分。所起地初名厭行分，正住地中修八禪等名為厭分，地滿足故名厭果分。又釋此四分，如其次第，則是加行道、無間道、解脫道、勝進道可知。

In this bhūmi, practicing meditation to loathe and subdue afflictions is called "arousing loathing." The mind that has just entered the bhūmi cultivates and arouses that loathing, which is called "the practice of loathing." The preparatory application leading to the bhūmi that arouses that practice of loathing is called "the section on arousing the practice of loathing." What is aroused at the beginning of the bhūmi is called "the section on the practice of loathing"; directly abiding within the bhūmi to cultivate the eight dhyānas and so forth is called "the section on loathing"; and because the bhūmi is perfected, it is called "the section on the fruit of loathing." Furthermore, in explaining these four sections, their order corresponds to the path of preparatory application, the uninterrupted path, the path of liberation, and the path of advanced progress, as may be understood.
