Fourth, that which is realized: According to the Mahāyānasaṃgraha, one realizes the dharmadhātu without defilement or purity. Vasubandhu explains, "Originally there is no defilement, because the nature is undefiled. Since there is no defilement, there is likewise no purity." The Cheng weishi lun says, "The sixth is the true suchness without defilement or purity, meaning this true suchness is originally undefiled by nature, nor can it be said to become pure afterward." Asvabhāva and the Madhyāntavibhāga both agree with this explanation. Furthermore, the Madhyāntavibhāga-bhāṣya says, "Through fully understanding this, one knows that dependently arisen dharmas are neither defiled nor pure." The Mahāyānasaṃgraha says, "Fully understanding this meaning, one enters the sixth bhūmi."
