15.13

第七分別言音智明中，初總知。「所謂」下別，於中三：先知報類言音；二「善分別」下知語法施設，謂飯喫等；三「摩訶薩隨其」下明得知所由。先法說，由此菩薩遍入世界，識知彼中眾生性類，是故解其言音施設。喻、合可知。

Seventh, within the clarity of the knowledge of discriminating speech and sounds, first, knowing generally. From 'so-called' onward, discriminating specifically, within which there are three: first, knowing the speech and sounds of karmic retribution types; second, from 'skilfully discriminating' onward, knowing the verbal designations of linguistic conventions, such as eating rice; third, from 'the mahāsattva, according to' onward, explaining the reason it is known. First, explaining through principle: because this bodhisattva enters worlds everywhere and recognizes the natures and types of the sentient beings therein, they therefore understand their speech, sounds, and designations. The analogy and application are clear [from the text].
