二來意者，前品大相各有光明皆照法界，而未顯所照利益之相，故今此品正明益事。為大相難明故辨小相，小相復多但論一相，一相有多時之益且說一時，此一時益復難明，故佛自說也。以此而論，前大相業用無邊無邊，極難知耳。又依前大相流出形好，故次來也。

Second, the reason for its coming: in the preceding chapter, the major marks each have light and all illuminate the dharmadhātu, but they did not reveal the characteristics of the benefit illuminated. Therefore, this present chapter directly clarifies the matters of benefit. Because the major marks are difficult to comprehend, the minor marks are distinguished; the minor marks are also numerous, so only a single mark is discussed; a single mark has benefits spanning many times, so one time is tentatively spoken of; this benefit of one time is again difficult to comprehend, so the Buddha speaks of it himself. Judging by this, the karmic functions of the previous major marks are boundless and boundless, extremely difficult to know. Furthermore, because physical excellences flow forth based on the previous major marks, it follows next.
