Second, within the verses, there are sixty-five verses, divided into two: first, twenty-eight verses praise the profundity and promise to expound, versifying the general answer above; second, from "Just as the great chiliocosm..." downward, thirty-seven verses versify the ten metaphors above. Within the former there are two: first, twenty-four verses praise the immeasurable profundity of the Dharma; afterward, from "Therefore..." downward, four verses clarify the scope of promising to expound. Within the former there are also two: first, twenty-two verses praise the profundity of what is known; afterward, from "The tathāgata's profound..." downward, two verses reveal the purity of the vessel that can know. Within the former there are also two: the first two generally reveal that the Buddha's virtues are profound, vast, and immeasurable; afterward, from "All tathāgatas..." downward, twenty verses specifically reveal the immeasurability of the ten approaches to the Buddha's virtues, with two verses revealing each virtue of the Buddha. The first two reveal the Buddha's inconceivable virtue, first generally presenting and then specifically analyzing, as can be understood. Below, within the metaphors, each first has the metaphor and then the phenomenon. Second, the metaphor of fine dust illustrates the Buddha's limitless virtue. Third, the metaphor of measuring space illustrates the Buddha's vast virtue. Fourth, the metaphor of counting thoughts illustrates the Buddha's immeasurable virtue. Fifth, the metaphor of the dharmadhātu illustrates the Buddha's profound virtue. Sixth, the metaphor of suchness illustrates the Buddha's virtue of being free from marks. Seventh, the metaphor of being without boundary illustrates the Buddha's unhindered virtue. Eighth, the metaphor of emptiness of nature illustrates the Buddha's virtue of pure nature. Ninth, the metaphor of transcending words illustrates the Buddha's incomparable virtue. Tenth, the metaphor of bird tracks illustrates the Buddha's virtue of essence and function. Another explanation: these ten are precisely versifying the ten phrases of the concluding text above, among which only the ninth section versifies the seventh phrase above, while the rest are sequentially correlated and explained, as can be understood. In the next two verses revealing the purity of those who can know, the first verse generally exhorts to purify the mind, and the next specifically analyzes it: the first half causes one to be free from conceptualization; from "Views and inversions..." downward concludes with the pure aspiration. In the four verses below on promising to expound, the first two admonish to listen and generally promise; the latter two specifically present the nine sections below to clarify the promise to expound. Therein, the phrase "the tathāgata's profound sphere" subsumes the tathāgata's practice and bodhi; the other sections are all present according to the text. From here down, in specifically versifying the ten metaphors, the first has nine verses versifying the first metaphor, wherein the first five verses are general and the latter four are specific; the second has four verses versifying the second metaphor; the third has three verses versifying the third metaphor; the fourth has three verses versifying the fourth metaphor; the fifth has three verses versifying the fifth metaphor, wherein it only versifies the application to phenomena and omits the metaphor; the sixth has two verses versifying the sixth metaphor; the seventh has four verses versifying the seventh metaphor; the eighth has two verses versifying the eighth metaphor; the ninth has two verses versifying the ninth metaphor; the tenth has three verses versifying the tenth metaphor. The final two verses praise the benefit and conclude the exposition. The above, answering the general section on the correct Dharma of nature manifestation, is completed.
