17.37

第七大段從「說此出生」下明表瑞證成分。於中二：先明說經表瑞，謂動地放光；二「爾時」下諸佛證成。於中四：一總讚善說、二「佛子汝已」下別歎說德。此中久已善學，中間決定證知，今時臨機快說。三「我等」下顯已同說，明現說不殊故。四「是故」下述已護持，令未來不斷故。上來表瑞證成分竟。

The seventh major section, from "having spoken this giving birth" onward, explains the section manifesting omens to verify and establish [it]. Within it there are two: first, explaining that speaking the sūtra manifested omens, namely the shaking of the earth and the emitting of light; second, from "at that time" onward, the buddhas verifying and establishing [it]. Within it are four: first, generally praising the excellent exposition; second, from "Son of the Buddha, you have already" onward, separately praising the virtue of the exposition—here [it means that] having long skillfully studied, in between having definitely realized and known, now facing the appropriate occasion he swiftly expounds it; third, from "we" onward, manifesting that they themselves have equally spoken it, explaining that the present exposition is not different; fourth, from "therefore" onward, narrating that they themselves protect and uphold it, causing it not to be severed in the future. The section manifesting omens to verify and establish [it] above is finished.
