18.47

九去不去中，唯末後二位無辭去故，文殊以離相故無去、普賢以德滿故無去；餘位非此，皆有辭去。若不辭去，封守一師，何得遍求法界知識？何成昇進之行？

Ninth, within departing and not departing: only the last two stages lack taking leave and departing; Mañjuśrī, because of being free from characteristics, has no departure; Samantabhadra, because of fulfillment of virtue, has no departure. The other stages are not like this and all have taking leave and departing. If he did not take leave and depart, clinging to and guarding a single master, how could he universally seek the spiritual benefactors of the dharmadhātu? How could the practice of ascending progress be accomplished?
