18.63

第三見已敬請中二：先設敬、後申請。於中，先申己意樂；二「而未知」下正請所要，十句，初五句問自行、後五問利他行，一一各二，謂背凡向佛、捨生死向佛果。初一約轉位，餘多約喻，准釋可知。

Third, in paying respects and requesting upon seeing him, there are two: first, paying respects; second, stating the request. Within this, first he states his own aspiration; second, from 'and yet I do not know' downward, directly requests what is essential, in ten phrases. The first five phrases ask about his own practice, and the latter five ask about the practice of benefiting others; each [set] has two aspects, namely turning away from the ordinary toward the Buddha, and relinquishing saṃsāra toward the fruit of buddhahood. The first one is based on changing stages, while the rest are mostly based on metaphors, which can be understood according to this interpretation.
