First, in citing the Dharma to exhort cultivation: "sixty yojanas" was said by past masters to be because of cultivating the practice of the six pāramitās. "The country of the Seashore": because this country is on the coast of the sea. The Indian Sanskrit manuscript gives the name "Seashore Laṅkā Path"; the explanation is that this country leads toward Mount Laṅkā. Furthermore, it is because he reaches the shore of the dharmadhātu of superior flow. Again, having previously entered the ocean gate, he now reaches the seashore. "Good Departure" (Supratiṣṭhita): skillfully entering and abiding in the principle. Furthermore, his body abides in empty space and walks the path without obstruction, hence he is named "Good Abiding" (Supratiṣṭhita). Exhorting him to go, instructing him to inquire, paying homage by circumambulating and taking leave, can all be known. Praising virtues is omitted.
