第三見敬請中五：初見依報。二「爾時善財見彼」下明見正報。樹皮衣等，明少欲之相。三設禮中，五體投地，敬之極也。四「念善知識」下起勝念想十句，初五句念彼能作成之因、後五句念彼悲智巧運度故。五「作是念」下敬遶申請。

Third, seeing, paying respects, and inquiring contains five: first, seeing the environmental fruition. Second, from "at that time Sudhana saw him" onward explains seeing the personal fruition. The bark clothing and the like explain the appearance of having few desires. Third, in offering prostrations, throwing the five limbs to the ground is the utmost of respect. Fourth, from "mindful of the good spiritual friend" onward gives rise to superior thoughts in ten sentences: the first five sentences recall his ability to create the causes of completion, and the latter five sentences recall his skillful conveyance and salvation through compassion and wisdom. Fifth, from "having had this thought" onward respectfully circumambulates and makes the request.
