3.48

第七起定成益分中二：先起主伴定。前明定不礙用故說十智；此明用不礙定故云不壞，不壞彼定故也。云何不壞？以由方便智釋顯也。二起益中二：先內益，亦二：初益此眾，有四：一證法體；二依證起巧智；三依智起妙辯；四說無斷絕，謂由願力故也。二結通顯圓。二外益中三：初動。二益，謂動時令恐，返此故樂也。又安善因授樂果。又動時令壞，返此故寶嚴。三雨寶，謂是法門也。以是減十，故標十列七也。

Part 7, "Emerging from Samādhi and Effecting Benefit," has two sections: first, emerging from the samādhi of the master and companions. Previously, it was clarified that samādhi does not obstruct function, and therefore he expounded the ten wisdoms; here, it is clarified that function does not obstruct samādhi, and therefore it says "not destroyed," because it does not destroy that samādhi. How is it not destroyed? It is explained and revealed through the wisdom of upāya. Second, in effecting benefit, there are two parts: First, internal benefit, which also has two: First, benefiting this assembly, which has four: 1. realizing the essence of Dharma; 2. giving rise to skillful wisdom based on realization; 3. giving rise to wondrous eloquence based on wisdom; 4. preaching without interruption, which is due to the power of vows. Second, concluding comprehensively to reveal perfection. Second, under external benefit, there are three: 1. shaking; 2. benefit, meaning that when it shakes, it causes fear, and reversing this brings joy; moreover, it establishes good causes to confer joyful fruition; furthermore, when it shakes, it causes destruction, and reversing this brings jewel-adornment; 3. raining down jewels, which represents Dharma gates. Since this is reduced from ten, ten are indicated and seven are listed.
