第四釋文中有二：一通辨經論解釋分齊生解方便、二別釋本文。初中略有十種方便：一解釋決擇、二釋文方軌、三四種悉檀、四四意趣、五四祕密、六四道理、七五力、八六相、九六釋、十八聲。

Fourth, within interpreting the text there are two parts: 1. universally discerning the scope of interpretation in sūtras and treatises and the upāyas for generating understanding; 2. specifically interpreting the root text. In the first there are briefly ten kinds of upāyas: 1. interpretation and decisive discernment; 2. standard guidelines for interpreting text; 3. four kinds of siddhāntas; 4. four intentions; 5. four secrets; 6. four principles; 7. five powers; 8. six characteristics; 9. six interpretations; 10. eight cases.
