The eighth layer illuminates one koṭi worlds. In the numerical systems of the Western country (India) there are three kinds of koṭi: one million, ten million, and one hundred million. Later in the text, a hundred thousand times a hundred thousand is called a koṭi; a koṭi here is called an ordinary yi, which is ten million as a koṭi. Here it is based on ten million as one koṭi. The Abhidharmasamuccaya states [the same]. There are twenty verses praising the Buddha's power of skillfulness. Every two verses form one theme; in all cases they first present what is done, and the final line concludes that it is due to skillful power. There are ten points within this: 1. the power of fulfillment of wisdom and abandonment; 2. the power of great wisdom delighting in objects; 3. the power of non-purposive accomplishment of affairs, within which there are three dharmas: first sentient beings, second places of conversion, and third internal dhyāna—since all are free from attachment, it is called skillful power; 4. the power of wisdom of principle entering reality; 5. the power of manifesting the fruit to gather sentient beings; 6. the power of wisdom entering the deep and secret; 7. the power of object and wisdom both perishing; 8. the power of predicting times and knowing places; 9. the power of fully penetrating the capacities of the multitudes; 10. the power of skillfully reaching the three times. Among these, the first is according to the conventional, and the latter is according to the real.
