5.38

第三起分者，有四意故：一已內證法故、二已得勝力故、三說時至故、四定無言說故，是故須起也。前初會普賢為果法深細故定中說，又顯普賢自在故；此明因行，故寄出也。

In the third, the part on rising [from samādhi], there are four reasons: 1. because he has already internally realized the Dharma; 2. because he has already attained superior power; 3. because the time to preach has arrived; 4. because samādhi is devoid of words; therefore he must rise. Previously in the first assembly, Samantabhadra preached within samādhi because the fruit-dharma is profound and subtle, and also to reveal Samantabhadra's sovereignty; here, since causal practice is clarified, it is lodged in his emergence.
