初釋名者，自體妙因，行集文斑，教則顯彰，故云菩薩說偈。餘義并來意及宗，並同前釋。

First, explaining the name: the self-nature of the subtle cause, with practices gathered and patterns variegated, the teaching then becomes evident and manifested; hence it is called 'Bodhisattvas Speaking Gāthās.' The remaining meanings, together with the purpose of occurrence and central theme, are all identical to the previous explanations.
