Second, from "at that time" onward, on proceeding in accordance with the teaching, first he is mindful of the preceding teachings; the first sentence is general, and from "the mind is able to nurture" onward, ten sentences separately reveal what he is mindful of. All saying "the mind is able to" means that if the mind is pure, then there is no practice that is not accomplished; therefore, being mindful of the mind in accordance with the teaching is the functional power of the Dharma. The first two [state that] the mind is the condition for practice. The next two [state that] the mind can initiate practice. The next two [state that] the mind can gather the Dharma. The next two [state that] the mind can accomplish samādhi and wisdom. The last two [state that] the mind can eliminate hindrances. Second, from "gradually travelling" onward directly proceeds to the subsequent stage, investigating and discerning.
