19.36

Under the spiritual friend of the eighth practice of respect: First, in adducing the Dharma to instruct cultivation, the city being named Prabhāsvara ('Good Light') means that he accords with principle to benefit beings, and his karmic function serves as light. The king being named Mahāprabhā ('Great Light') is because the light of his samādhi of great compassion shines upon and benefits the myriad beings, gathering and transforming with mastery, hence he is named after this.
