Fourth, on expressing the Dharma: there are altogether four ranks of the Buddha who preaches the Dharma. First is the body identical to an arhat, to express the preaching of the Hīnayāna Dharma. Second is the nirmāṇakāya Buddha, expressing the preaching of the three vehicles, broadly explaining prior to the bhūmis and briefly explaining above the bhūmis. Third is the saṃbhogakāya Buddha, expressing the preaching of the three vehicles, broadly explaining above the bhūmis and briefly explaining prior to the bhūmis. Fourth is the Buddha of the ten bodies, expressing the One Vehicle Dharma, preaching equally across the six stages. Because what is expounded here is fully equipped with host and retinue as inexhaustible dharmas, the Buddha is likewise inexhaustible like these ten bodies.
