Fifth, within the prose section on the adornment of the fragrant river, there are three clauses: first, covered with flowers; second, the source; third, flowing along. Because the dependent and proper [rewards] are unimpeded, it emerges from the Buddha; and to signify the proper, it emerges from between his eyebrows, meaning that the river of teachings flows and moistens, emerging from verified wisdom. Yet, the teachings carry ultimate truth; therefore, the jewel-king flowing along does not lose its true nature, which is precisely the principle that [it] accords with conditions without changing, being non-dual. In the verses, there are ten stanzas: 1. generally explaining the characteristics of the river; 2. the adornment of the banks; 3. the surge of fragrant water; 4. where the circling reach; 5. naturally gushing forth jewels; 6. the river's substance being universally pervasive; 7. the net expounding causal practice; 8. the banks hearing resultant practice; 9. the river spreading out causes; 10. the river's source proceeding from results.
