三光意者，此諸放光，略有四意：一為現相表法、二驚起信心、三照觸救苦、四集眾遠召。

Third, concerning the intention of the light: these various emissions of light generally have four intentions: first, to manifest marks to symbolize the Dharma; second, to startle awake and give rise to faithful resolve; third, to shine upon, touch, and deliver from suffering; fourth, to assemble the multitude by summoning from afar.
