15.11

初來意者，夫欲階妙位必資勝行，有解無行虛費多聞，故前品明解、此品辨行。又前明入理觀行、今辨隨事所行。又前行、此願，並義次第，故次來也。

First, the reason for its occurrence: one who wishes to ascend to the wondrous stages must rely on superior practice; having understanding without practice wastes much hearing in vain. Therefore, the preceding chapter clarified understanding, while this chapter analyzes practice. Furthermore, the preceding clarified the practice of contemplation entering noumenon, while this analyzes the practice performed in accordance with phenomena. Moreover, the preceding was practice, and this is vow, both forming a doctrinal sequence; hence it comes next.
