19.54

第七「爾時」下以偈重頌分。先辨偈意，有十一句，初一後一是說偈儀，而離開者，欲顯中九皆承佛力該十方故。中九正明所謂，初總、餘別。別中四對：一淨業顯理；二除惑開信，妄想分別為雜染根；三知病識藥；四觀果淨因，即由利他，自業便淨。

Seventh, from "At that time..." downward, is the section of restating in verse (geya). First, to discern the intent of the verses, there are eleven lines: the first line and the last line are the deportment of expounding the verses, and that they are separated is to reveal that the middle nine all receive the Buddha's power and cover the ten directions. The middle nine directly clarify the particulars: the first is general, the rest are specific. Within the specific there are four pairs: first, purifying karma to reveal the noumenon; second, removing delusions to open up faith, since false discrimination is the root of defilement; third, knowing the illness and recognizing the medicine; fourth, contemplating the fruit to purify the cause, which means that through benefiting others, one's own karma becomes pure.
