Major section two: from "Lands of the ten directions..." downward, thirty-four verses restate the preceding assessment through analogies. Therein it is divided into two: first, fourteen verses directly restate the preceding analogies, which can be understood; afterwards, twenty verses comprehensively explain why all the analogies fall short: although briefly explained before, it is now extensively discerned. Moreover, in the prose, specific explanations were mostly given in accordance with individual analogies, whereas here it is comprehensively discerned, and also generally restates the preceding praise of it being deep and difficult to expound; if they were matched individually, it would cause difficult realizations and so forth to be mutually restricted. Therein it is divided into three: the first half-verse concludes the preceding and introduces the following; next, seventeen and a half verses directly explain the reasons; afterwards, two verses conclude with the inexhaustibility of virtues. Within the direct explanation, it is divided into three: the first verse marks the headings; next, twelve and a half verses explain them individually; third, four verses reveal the perfection of virtues. Now this is the first, which means marking the two headings of inexhaustible arising and the limitless nature of the essence and marks. Second, in the specific explanation, the first four verses explain being without limit or boundary, where each line may be one meaning. The latter one and a half verses restate the meaning of the six pāramitās, which can be understood by meaning. The latter eight and a half verses explain inexhaustible arising, wherein it is divided into three: the first two and a half verses conclude the preceding and introduce the following, because since the essence is limitless, its arising is inexhaustible; next, from "The bodhicitta is..." downward, four verses directly reveal that arising is the root, arising being merely one meaning; the latter two verses briefly explain the reason for being the root: because cultivating the six pāramitās is the root of the bodhisattva vehicle, because encouraging correct conduct is the root of the human and deva vehicles, and because elucidating marvelous karma is universally the root of nirvāṇa for the three vehicles. Third, in the four verses revealing the perfection of virtues, the first verse reveals it generally, the next two verses specifically reveal the fulfillment of vows, and the final verse specifically clarifies the perfection of wisdom. Third, the two verses concluding the inexhaustibility of virtues can be understood.
