26.24

第四迴拔救護。謂孤標大志，普為眾生而無冀望。文中二：先喻、後合。喻中有二：一獨照喻、二「又諸」下成益喻。法合亦二：先合獨照；後「修習」下合前成益，即正顯迴向。初之一句通其二勢：一成前二標、後「所謂」下別顯。文有十句，初總、餘別。照謂照機顧復之義，見於《毛詩》，餘文可知。

The fourth is dedication to extricate and protect. It means solitary manifestation of great resolve, universally acting for sentient beings without expectation. In the text there are two parts: first, the metaphor, and second, the application. In the metaphor there are two: first, the metaphor of shining alone; second, from "moreover, all" onward, the metaphor of accomplishing benefits. The doctrinal application also has two: first, applying the shining alone; second, from "cultivating" onward, applying the preceding accomplishment of benefits, which directly displays the dedication. The initial single phrase connects both thrusts: first, completing the preceding two indications, and second, from "namely" onward, specifically presenting them. The text has ten phrases: the first is general, the rest are specific. "Shining" refers to the meaning of shining upon capacities and bestowing maternal care, as found in the *Mao Commentary on the Book of Songs*; the remaining text is self-evident.
