28.26

十九施蓋中，《本行經》說編草為蓋，七寶蓋隨。況眾寶嚴，功報何極。四所為中有十，為令二十。又欲皆令眾生因圓果滿，觸理皆蓋，方顯菩薩悲智深妙，可謂隨順一切善根。並可虛求，法門浩大不可具釋。

Nineteen: In giving canopies, the Abhiniṣkramaṇa-sūtra explains that weaving grass into a canopy was accompanied by a canopy of the seven jewels. How much more so for adorning with numerous jewels—how could the merit and retribution have an end! Among the four [sections], the purposes are ten, making twenty 'in order to causes'. Moreover, it is desired that all sentient beings have causes rounded and fruits perfected, covering everything as it touches the noumenon, only then revealing the profound marvel of the bodhisattva's compassion and wisdom; this may truly be called complying with all roots of goodness. All of these may be sought [in thought], for the Dharma gates are vast and great and cannot be fully explained.
