Twenty-nine: Giving teeth. First, in the practice of giving, abiding in the stage of firm sovereignty is because of being on or above the stages. The Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra, fascicle fourteen, says: 'The elephant king giving his tusks is an affair of a dharmakāya bodhisattva.' This is explained extensively there and in the Daśacakra, fascicle four. Second, from 'the bodhisattva' onward, the ten vows of the practice of pariṇāmanā: only the third is explained solely with respect to the mind, meaning that wisdom can tame afflictions and advance to the other shore, just as teeth masticate food to nourish the physical body. The rest are all explained with respect to teeth. Accomplishing the ten thousand-character mark: according to the Sanskrit text, it merely means turning to the right and being delightful. Emitting immeasurable light is precisely as explained in the 'Ocean of Marks' chapter.
