33.10

二釋名。演暢宣陳十地差別，故名說分。以上請分通請十地，對請辨說理必宜通，為歡喜在初受，斯總稱故。論云「自此已後正說初地。」既有初地說分，即知十地皆有說分。又初地中，皆應名說為分地滿，異於初住，故十願下更與異名，名校量勝。又論家科文但舉大格，至於血脈殊不介懷，隨時起盡不應執定。

Second, explaining the name. Unfolding, proclaiming, and expounding the distinctions of the ten stages, it is therefore named the Division of Exposition. Since the division of request above universally requested the ten stages, in analyzing the exposition in response to the request, the principle must necessarily be universal, yet Joyous is at the beginning to receive this collective name. The Śāstra says: 'From here onward directly explains the first stage.' Since there is a Division of Exposition for the first stage, one knows that all ten stages have Divisions of Exposition. Furthermore, in the first stage, all should be named exposition to distinguish the stage's fulfillment, differing from the first abidance; hence below the ten vows it gives yet another different name, called 'weighing superiority'. Moreover, the commentator's division of the text merely raises the broad framework, not caring in the least about the continuous lineage of thought; arising and ending according to circumstances, one should not rigidly cling to it.
