37.11

一釋名。菩提是覺，分是因義，此三十七為諸乘覺因故。亦云道品，品即是類，因為果類故。別名至文自顯。

1. Explaining the name: "Bodhi" is awakening, and "factor" (pakṣa) has the meaning of cause; these thirty-seven are the causes of awakening for the various vehicles. They are also called the categories of the path (mārgāṅga): "categories" (pin) means classes, because the causes belong to the class of the fruit. The distinct names will become apparent in the text itself.
