43.19

第四說相中，約本釋以分法義。一修多羅相，故但示法。二解釋相，所以名義。三隨順相，隨類言音故。四相似說相，謂隨心樂聞何法宜，何譬喻說，似彼心故。

Fourth, among the marks of preaching, Dharma and meaning are divided in terms of root and commentary. 1. The mark of the sūtras, which therefore merely indicates the Dharma. 2. The mark of explanation, which is why it is called meaning. 3. The mark of accord, because it accords with the languages and voices of each class. 4. The mark of similar preaching, meaning preaching in accordance with what Dharma the mind delights in hearing and what metaphor is suitable, resembling that [very] mind.
