5.10

第九聞不聞者，約權前後皆互得聞。約實當會自聞，縱不起前而趣於後，亦各不相知。若約頓機，許一時頓領。上之九門且從顯著，略為此釋，中本廣本或隱或顯，不可執文。

Ninth, regarding hearing and not hearing: in terms of the provisional, all before and after mutually hear. In terms of the real, they hear only in their own assembly; even if they do not rise from the former to proceed to the latter, they also do not know of each other. If considered in terms of those of the sudden capacity, it allows them to suddenly comprehend at one and the same time. The above nine portals are provisionally explained concisely following what is prominent; in the medium and expanded versions, they may be hidden or visible, and one must not cling to the literal text.
