In the second, listing the names and praising their virtues, there are two: first, listing the names and concluding with the count; second, from "all" onward, praising their virtues. The text has ten phrases: the first is general, and the rest are specific. Among the specific: first, tallying with noumenon and perfecting vows, because the universal eye is fulfilled. Second, being the chief in gathering the Dharma, for the sake of universal transformation. Third, receiving and upholding the true Dharma, because of having universal wisdom. Fourth, not severing the lineage of the Buddhas, because of universally seeing the nature [of awakening]. Fifth, knowing the ceremonial manners of the Buddhas' transformations, because the light universally penetrates. Sixth, manifesting the attainment of Buddhahood, because contemplation sees nothingness. Seventh, purifying defiled capacities, because of illuminating their source. Eighth, destroying others' obstacles, because of possessing the banner of wisdom. Ninth, realizing the dharmadhātu, because of awakening to dharmatā. If explaining these nine phrases above specifically: the first phrase is vows, and the remaining eight are practices. Speaking comprehensively, they are all Samantabhadra's vows, because past vows are now fulfilled, just as the ten great vows together with Samantabhadra's practices are performed according to present conditions; therefore the general phrase says, "accomplishing practices and vows." Furthermore, these ten phrases are possessed in common by the ten individuals, since the text says "all had accomplished"; each phrase also reveals the virtue of one person, corresponding to the explanation of the names. Therefore, the general phrase belongs to Samantabhadra, and the remaining nine correspond respectively as explained above.
