56.17

第三善住比丘，寄修行住。文亦具六：一依教趣求，中二：先念前友教有十句，初一通念示教人法、次三念前聞佛說法事、次三思入海觀事、後三證理治障攝法觀修。二「漸次」下趣求後位，可知。

Third is the monk Supratiṣṭhita, who corresponds to the abode of cultivation. The text also comprises six parts: 1. Proceeding to seek in accordance with the teaching, which has two parts: first, recollecting the teaching of the previous spiritual friend has ten phrases: the first phrase generally recollects the person and Dharma of the instruction; the next three recollect the previous matters of hearing the Buddha expound the Dharma; the next three ponder the matters of entering the ocean to contemplate; the final three are the contemplation and cultivation of realizing noumenon, overcoming obstacles, and gathering dharmas. Second, from 'gradually' onward, proceeding to seek the subsequent station, which can be understood.
