Third, from "the Bodhisattva Ananyagāmin said" downward, is conferring his own dharmadhātu, divided into two: first, marking the name and essence. The ten directions are boundless, hence named "universal gate"; a single thought-moment surpasses many, hence said to be "swift." Second, from "Sudhana said" downward, it reveals its functioning of karmic activity. In this there are four points: 1. Presenting the inquiry. Although there are three questions, the intent lies in swiftness. 2. From "he told him" downward, it reveals the profundity. 3. From "Sudhana" downward, he relies on [the Buddha's] power to request the teaching. 4. From "the Bodhisattva Ananyagāmin said" downward, he directly answers the previous question, in which there are five parts: first, answering the place of attaining the Dharma, meaning that from the realm of the Tathāgatagarbha of one's own fundamental wisdom all myriad goods are universally generated; coming from original awakening, his practice can be swiftly universal, knowing that all phenomena do not depart from the mind-nature, the myriad practices are suddenly accomplished. Second, from "departing from that" downward, he answers the duration of time. Third, from "in each and every thought-moment" downward, he answers the proximity and distance of the place. Since over much time he takes many steps, one knows it is far, which is indeed swiftness. Fourth, from "in each and every Buddha-field" downward, it reveals his accomplishment of benefits. Fifth, from "just as from the east" downward, it analogously reveals the ten powers. The latter three may be known.
