Fourth, explaining the ten dharmas of the prose section for the second dhyāna [heavens]. In the first, there are two meanings: first, inwardly realizing true bliss. The sūtras and treatises jointly explain that bliss has five kinds: first, cause; second, result; third, counteracting suffering; fourth, severing feeling; fifth, non-affliction. Non-affliction bliss further has four kinds: the bliss of leaving home and seclusion, the bliss of the comfort of dhyāna, the bliss of awakening to phenomena in bodhi, and the bliss of the tranquility of nirvāṇa. Here it corresponds to the fourth. If one broadly takes the word "feeling" to also include dhyāna and bodhi, then it encompasses cause and effect. As for saying "constantly experiencing," it is because by experiencing all feelings through non-experiencing; if it depends on objects, it is not constant. Second, from "and able to descend" downward, externally it establishes great meaning, descending spiritually and manifesting marks to eradicate the cause and effect of suffering. This attains liberation from the obstacle regarding the essence and function of nirvāṇa.
